Picture This Takes Kentish Town By Storm

19th March 2019. London, Kentish Town, o2 forum. What a night.

Picture This is an Irish rock band that originated from Athy, County Kildare. Composed of Ryan Hennessy, Jimmy Rainsford, Owen Cardiff and Cliff Deane. In 2017 they released their debut album, which entered atop the Irish Album Chart. Having recently released their second album, MDRN LV, they are now touring round Europe and American.

I have been a fan of Picture This since I saw them open up for Niall Horan in 2017. Their original songs and stage presence was one of the things that drew me to continue listening to them.

Poem: Mothers of Britain.

Mothers of Britain

Mothers of Britain,

Don’t stop moaning at your children,

Even when we leave our shoes in the wrong place,

Or when we’re too lazy to do the chores,

Don’t stop moaning,

Even when our room is messy,

Or when we lie to you,

Just don’t stop moaning,

Netflix Binge Watch: After Life

I have only recently in the past year become a fan of Ricky Gervais and I have to say, After Life, is probably one of the best works I’ve seen of his so far.

In this series Ricky Gervais plays a man called Tony who had a perfect life – until is wife Lisa died. After this tragic event in his life, he changed. He contemplates taking his life but then decides he would rather live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes. He thinks of it as a superpower but it ends up being trickier than he thought when his friends and family try to save the nice guy that they used to know.

Book Review: Are We All Lemmings & Snowflakes? by Holly Bourne

Holly Bourne has been one of my favourite authors for a while now. I have read most of her books and I get so excited when I see a new one has or is coming out. So, when this new book came out, Are we all lemmings and snowflakes?’, I was excited to get my claws into it and it is amazing. Holly Bourne is famous for writing about feminism and mental health issues. And this new book is a great portrayal of a young girl with bipolar disorder.

Netflix Binge Watch: Bates Motel

The Bates Motel come out in March 2013 but I have only just started watching it. It consists of five season each containing 10 episodes. This programme drags you right into it from the beginning with the first episode someone dying.

A mother moves with her son, after her husband dies, buying a motel but nothing is normal about this family or about their life. This programme was created by Alfred Hitchcock and is based on the book of the same name which was written by Robert Bloch. Which in turn is loosely based on the true story of serial killer Ed Gein.
