Casey Lowry. The first time I heard this name was when I went to go see Saint Raymond live in Tonbridge Wells. He opened up for him and I have to say he had me hooked as soon as he finished his first song. So when he announced his own tour and of course came to London, I couldn’t not get tickets.
He performed at Finborough Arms, a small pub/theatre in London. If you’ve been there before for a gig you will know that you walk into a pub and go downstairs in the basement, where they have a small bar with a small stage. You should know the room is tiny, probably no bigger than the actual pub located up stairs. The tiny room filled up quick and with some many different types of people. Young, old and all with different styles. It was amazing to see so many different ages in one room all for one person and one genre of music. You started to see the age as you walked in as all the younger people stood in the front, right up close while the older people hang by the bar at the back and we all knew one of the reasons why, eg. the bar was there.
When Casey walked out the atmosphere in the room rose. Everyone started dancing along to his upbeat tunes and singing their hearts out. Incredible to see a room full of people all knowing words to the same songs and all becoming one. There was no judgement or rudeness because everyone was there for one thing, the same thing. To see so many people in a small space enjoying themselves is always amazing and a reason I love gigs. The lightening in the small room was great, illuminating the room with colours of pink, blue and purple.
The smile on Casey’s face when people sung back his words was a picture. You could see in his face how much he appreciates his fan and loves the fact they can see the words his written back to him.
Altogether Casey Lowry was amazing to go see and I would definitely recommend it. The energy he has on stage, dancing around like everyone else, that you would almost think he was one of the crowd. Chatting the crowd like everyones best mate and making the night enjoyable for everyone there.
