Saint Raymond Takes Tunbridge Wells.

Callum Burrows, 23 and professionally known as Saint Raymond, is a singer-songwriter from Nottingham. He started gaining popularity from 2013, touring with Ed Sheeran in 2014 and since then has gain a big fan base.

Saint Raymond and his band played at Tunbridge Wells’ Forum on 9th November 2018. This was my first time seeing him live, although I have been a fan for a long time now. Watching the small venue in Tunbridge Wells come alive and connect together just by a stranger singing songs everyone knew made the whole experience so uplifting.

The small venue slowly started to fill up like a night club on a Friday night. Groups of girls, groups of boys and couples filled the Forum. Drinks in their hands, waiting for the man they’d brought a ticket for to enter the stage.

9 o’clock and the crowd cheers as the man himself, Saint Raymond, walks on stage, guitar in hand. First song, Young Blood, comes through the speakers. Everyone singing their hearts out to his first ever single he released. A fantastic song to start an incredible night.

With a setlist consisting of 11 songs only to then return for an encore of 4.

Setlist

  1. Young Blood
  2. Everything she wants
  3. Younger
  4. I want you
  5. Echo
  6. Dancing

  10. Come back to you
  11. Fall at your feet

Encore

15. Ghosts

The night went on with no wanting to leave, even when the last song ended. The atmosphere in the room was unbelievable. The whole room was singing their hearts out, every word being sung around the room, no one missing a beat. Couples swayed to sad songs, everyone jumped and danced to up-beat ones.

Concerts are a love of mine and I can honestly say this is one of the best I’ve been to. People singing and dancing with no care in the world and making friends with strangers. Everyone coming together just because they have an interest in one certain man, Saint Raymond. It’s a sight to see and admire. If you can ever go to a small gig or even a Saint Raymond gig you should jump at the opportunity, you won’t regret it.
